Neon Cyber was founded by Cody Pierce and Mark St. John, seasoned leaders with a track record of building and scaling innovative security companies. After launching AlphaWave, acquired twice and widely regarded as a pioneer in Attack Surface Management, they saw the need for a new category: one focused not on infrastructure, but on the human side of risk.
Our Story
Traditional security tools were built for servers, endpoints, and networks. But Cody and Mark understood something most didn’t: real risk happens in the browser, where users interact with SaaS tools, share data, and make split-second decisions. After years of offensive and defensive security work, they founded Neon to address that exact challenge creating browser-native protection that works at the point of risk.

Cody brings over 20 years of security expertise, from vulnerability research to building enterprise-grade solutions. As co-founder of AlphaWave, he helped redefine how companies approached attack surface visibility.
Mark St. John

Mark’s background spans security operations, threat intelligence, and security product development. His leadership at AlphaWave helped scale the company into one of the earliest success stories in external attack surface management.
